Hundreds of runners and walkers traversed 5K and one-mile courses in the area in March, contributing to their own fitness
levels and local causes.
During March, four road races gave athletes opportunities to strut their stuff on courses at Gainesville College, North
Hall High School and the Riverside Drive area. Many strode as part of their training for the July 4 10K Peachtree Road Race
in Atlanta. Others enjoyed early spring fitness walks with friends.
The races raised more than $50,000 in entry fees and sponsorships. The proceeds go to a variety of community programs that
assist abused and neglected children, provide vision-related services and help care for animals at the Humane Society of Hall
County.
